ANDREW JAMES MILLER
I was born and raised on Long Island, New York, and am currently based in Tampa, Florida, where I am completing dual undergraduate degrees in Film and Journalism.
I began my academic career as a Journalism major and continue to write for my university’s newspaper, The Minaret.
At the University of Tampa, I’ve had the opportunity to create work I’m deeply proud of. My films have screened at the university’s Blackbox Film Festival, where I earned both Best of Fest and Best Narrative for my personal short Grandma’s (2023). I also received Best Documentary, alongside my team, for Cadena en Cadena (2023), a project filmed in Mexico.
In the summer of 2024, I stepped onto a professional set for the first time as a Production Assistant on season three of HBO Max’s The Gilded Age.
Beyond film, I have performed in multiple university mainstage musical productions, including The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Dames at Sea. To further develop my skills as a director, I served as Assistant Director for the spring mainstage production of The Spitfire Grill.
While I’ve explored a range of creative mediums, film is where I feel most at home. I’m driven by a deep passion for storytelling and collaboration, and I look forward to continuing to create meaningful work that connects with audiences.
What Am i up to now?
Come Fall ‘26, I will be attending the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, NY, where I will get my Master's in Professional Sciences in Film. I am beyond excited to create work in NY and continue my career alongside fellow graduate students and working professionals.
